Sera…Her name came about when when we saw what God brought us…one boy, one girl from a breeding that we highly anticipated. I knew we wanted the girl and usually I have quite the assortment to pick from, but not this time. I wanted a girl, I had one choice, so thus her name…What will be, will be. I sang it to her from the first days. I sang it in the car as we would go to visits or training sessions…It just played in my head all the time!

Sera and I just clicked. She had enough drive that I knew she would tackle any job put before, enough stubbornness to make her a challenge, enough sparkle to make her shine, and enough sweetness to make me fall head over heels in love with her. As she started clearing every health clearance, I began to have some hopes. I still believed that something would get in the way of me getting to finish my girl though. So many dead ends had happened to me previously. But, she just kept amazing me.

After effortlessly getting her CGC, CD, and NDD (effortlessly for her anyhow…I worked pretty hard!) it was time to get her into the show ring. I tried taking her in a couple times and we seemed to be stuck in Reserve for a bit. Of course, I found myself back believing that I just simply couldn’t handle a dog in the conformation ring. Competition anything seems to be a big challenge for me. But, Reserve…never less…I believed she could do better! So, Christy Marley, our new found handler was given the chance in the ring. Sera did her typical and gave her all the above…challenge, attitude, and sweetness. After making her work for her trust, Sera decided to turn on the shine. She was gorgeous! Getting first place at the National Specialty in American Bred, taking her Championship with no single points…majors only! And her gift to me?? I got to show her for her last two majors…She was going to be my Bred by Exhibitor dog…that was my goal. It didn’t end up happening, but I got to be part of the journey which was incredible. We are bonded at the hip and that is no exaggeration…if she is in the room, that is where she is. Sera…what a privilege to be your person…what things are still in the plans?…Many many more! And best of all…she is not just at my hip…She has my back!
